Prompt: Small World Stories!
Quest: In the folkloristic study of personal narrative, there is a common kind of tale called “small-world stories.” Small-world stories are stories about synchronicities, weird coincidences, and unexpected connections. They are stories that you almost can’t believe are even real – they literally make you say “wow, what a small world!” Here are a few examples –
1) Your Mom and Dad both attended a concert ten years before they met – and your Mom has a photograph with your Dad in the background.
2) You run into your favorite old camp counselor at the Eiffel Tower.
3) Twenty years later to the day, you wind up saving the life of the nurse who saved your life when you were a baby.
It sounds incredible, but everyone has stories like this… we can’t wait to hear yours!
